title: the story of the little prince and the fox
Once upon a time, there was a little prince and a fox that lived near the castle the little prince lived in.
Now the little prince wanted desperately to play with the fox, but the fox did not allow the little prince to do so.
"Why?" the little prince asked.
The fox replied, "If you truly want to play with me, you first have to tame me."
The little prince then inquired, "How do I tame you?"
The fox said, "First, you must sit a distance away from me. Look at me in the eye, but do not say anything, for words are but seeds of misunderstanding. Slowly, at my beckoning, you come closer a little. Until the time we sit side by side may you start to talk. And we will talk. Only when I tell my secrets have you fully tamed me. And only then can you play with me."
And that was what the little prince did. Slowly, the two got acquainted, and finally, one day, the little prince had tamed the fox.
But when the fox wanted to play, the little prince had to leave.
"Why?" the fox cried.
"I will be back, but until then, please wait for me," the little prince whispered to the crying fox, and left it with nothing much than a reluctant goodbye.
The fox kept its end of the promise and waited for the little prince. It waited for days, it waited for months, it waited for years. But still, the little prince never came back.
One day, however, someone came to the fox. He was nothing like the little prince, yet his eyes shone with adoration upon seeing the fox.
"It's time," he told the fox, and the grown-up prince and the fox finally did what they had set out to do - they played.
